1968 Plymouth Road Runner

The Road Runner was purchased in March of 1968 in Norfolk, Virginia as it was being delivered to a dealer.  I had been looking for an automatic transmission car and this one was it.  I traded a 1965 Comet Cyclone and a 1965 Mustang two door coupe plus $600 for the car.  The original invoice listed the car for $3027.00.  This was one of the "fancier" Road Runners with the Satellite interior.  I raced the car in California, Virginia, and South Carolina.  I towed the car to La Crosse, WI in  1981 finally selling it in 1982 to a Navy recruiter in Stevens Point, WI.  In 1995, I returned from a business trip to find the car in my son's garage.  He had found it in Troy, MI and bought it and brought it home.  My son and I have been racing it since 1995.  It has gone from a twelve second "lane plugger" to the nine second car of today.
